     Deutscher Werkbund is an association of multiple designers and architects and artists in Germany. it was founded in 1907 by two founders who are Hermann Muthesius and Henry Van De Valde. the two founders were inspired by the leader of the Arts and Crafts movement, his name is William Morris. This association came with an innovative movement to provide Germany a high position in terms of global market and high product quality. However, Deutscher Werkbund community was preferring to use machines for their product production, so, it promoted its designers, artists and architects to use advanced and technological tool to create a well-designed product. Thanks to the movement, Germany knew an awesome flourish at that time. 

    

    The Werkbund association did not collapse during the first and the second world wars, while they were trying to improve the methods of designing. the Werkbund members were kind of designers of nearly everything that can be used in a daily life, they have a motto that it says in Germany "vom Sofakissen zum Stadtebau" which means as "from sofa cushions to urban building".

     Moreover, Deutscher Werkbund is the one group that found the Bauhaus, one of the most famous members and an influential member among the Werkbund association that was working as architect, he is called as Walter Adolph Georg Gropius is the one who found about the Bauhaus school in 1919, then almost all the ideas and design methods were transferred from Werkbund to the Bauhaus, then Bauhaus become well knows than Deutscher Werkbund.

     Actually, the Bauhaus and the Deutscher Werkbund have the same aims and targets that was developing creativity in producing and making a design, but speed it up at the same time to promote the markets with a useful and beautifully designed products, and the only one difference between both is that Bauhaus is a school and Werkbund is community.
